SATURDAY

Tom Randall and Ollie Torr are the founders of The Lattice Board and Lattice Training. They've already used their Lattice Board for many years to research training and performance by climbers. With this knowledge they coach a lot of great climbers. During the Trainersweekend they will do three sessions:

Training within energy systems -Theory (S)
Saturday 10.15 - 12.30
During this theoretical session Tom and Ollie teach all about how muscles work and how to train different energy systems.

Training within energy systems - Practical (S)
Saturday 15.15 - 17.30
In this practical session Tom Randall en Ollie Torr dive deeper into the subject of energy systems. But this time it's all practical. They will use fingerboards, training-wall, weights and of course also their Lattice Board. (To follow this practical session you first need to follow the theoretical session.)

Practical workshop training (B)
Saturday 13.00 - 15.00
How do you structure and differentiate your training for every level and age? Tom Randall
en Ollie Torr turn their theory into practice.

Ingo Filzwieser
For the last 7 years Ingo was the coach of the Austrian National Team, working day to day with a lot of good climbers. Ingo will do two workshops: one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Analyzing climbing movements (S)
Saturday 13.00 - 15.00
Power is just a small part of the puzzle, technique is key to hard climbing. As a coach it is one of the most important tasks to observe details in your athletes climbing movements. During his workshop Ingo will teach you how it's done.

Flexibility and balance (B)
Saturday 10.15 - 12.30 English
Flexibility and Balance are essential for good climbing. But which flexibility and balance is actually important? And how do you train this? Hasan Tansel Yağcı, experienced climber and climbing coach, will work with these questions in his practical session.

SUNDAY

Ingo Filzwieser

For the last 7 years Ingo was the coach of the Austrian National Team, working day to day with a lot of good climbers. Ingo will do two workshops: one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

How training-apps you can help planning your training? (S)
Sunday 13.00 - 15.00
How do you make a trainingplanning for your athletes? And how can apps help you? Ingo Filzwieser shares his experiences.

You observed and analysed, and then what?
Sunday 10.15 - 12.30 (S)
Sunday 13.00 - 15.00 (B)

Mathieu Ceron and Patrick Matros are going to work on analyzing and recognizing patterns in climbing movement and your influence as a coach in developing your athletes. Mathieu and Patrick will use video-analysis to discuss the theory. In the following part of the workshop they will translate theory into practice. This workshop will be given twice. One for coaches of recreational groups (B) and one for coaches of selections. (S)

Fear and stress regulation (A)
Sunday 10.15 - 12.30
What is fear and how does it develop. And more important how can we learn to deal with it? In climbing we see a lot of different fears; fear to fall, fear to fail, anxiety for competitions or social pressure. Madeleine Eppensteiner, Sport-psychologist from Austria, is specialized in climbing. During her workshop she will work on the theory behind fear and stress regulation and get practical. You will learn some strategies which you can use in stressy circumstances and teach your athletes.

Mirror for trainers (S)
Sunday 13.00 - 17.30 En
Coaches have big influence on young athletes. Their actions and behavior, goals and attitudes have huge impact on how athletes grow. This in depth session aims to make coaches sensitive for their own behavior in stressful situations, this could be positive and encouraging behavior or negative, counterproductive behavior. Because we have such a big impact on our athletes it is important that we as coaches can deal with stressful situations. During this in depth session  Madeleine Eppensteiner will hold up a mirror so you can learn how you communicate and how you can learn to use effective communication.
